Si Scott:

Si Scott is a British illustrator and graphic designer. he has one of the most distinctive and contemporary not to mention lyrical hand drawn style. Si scott thinks that being able to do illustrations makes it much less constrained compared to traditional graphic design, and this is what abled him to develop his utmost beautiful style.
Their was an interview featured in Pilot Magazine and Si scott and his work. He has said the 90% of his work is hand done and only about 10% is computer. The reporter raised a good point about how about 5 years ago, people who did illustrations weren't getting the correct amount of appreciation that they should have. Si Scott answered back saying that in his own experience he finds illustration briefs to be much more appealing than others and that in the design world, things move in a cycle, which means somethings are accepted more easily then others.
A part of the article i found interesting was that he agreed with the fact that the digital revolution that is currently going on has given back to the people and made them more open and that has caused the creative culture to loosen up. But he also mentioned that this has caused everybody to think that they're a designer and made designer becomes lazy because art is so accessible on the internet.
An interesting fact about Si Scott is that music is a big part of his life. I guess relating to this for a lot of us is quiet easy because music is a form of art. (just something to think about ).
I related this back to Joseph Churchward because of the whole manual typography common factor. Being able to do something with your hand is much more efficient in my opinion as you can have full control over what you do and start developing your own styles.
